RepreSensation is a unique competition where unrepresented actors compete to win a meeting with a FANTASTIC agency.
For the last four years, the winner has received one year of representation by a theatrical agent. However, due to changing laws, we CAN NOT promise representation to the winner. Instead, we have modified the contest, so that the winner earns a meeting with an agent (who will also serve on the panal of judges for the second day). Legally, the meeting does not guarantee representation, jobs, or a contract (it may result in representation, but we can not guarantee this)
The cost to participate is $100. To see the judges and agents, please follow the links above!
In addition to competing for the RepreSentation title and meeting with an agent, you will be evaluated by some of the top casting professionals currently working on hit TV shows and films. You will be privy to their notes, feedback and helpful comments following the competition, so that you can learn and grow as an actor. Now you'll know where your strengths lie and where you can improve!
Saturday, March 6th: Prelims
One week prior to the competition, you will select and prepare your audition scene.
You will be given an appointment time in either the Union (SAG) room or the Non-Union room depending on your current status.
Once inside, you will perform your scene with a seated reader for a panel of three casting professionals.
They will then rank your performance in 10 areas for a total score out of 50.
Later that night, you will receive a phone call if you have placed in the top ten and will advance to the finals.
Anyone advancing to the finals will need to return to the website to select another scene to prepare overnight for the finals.
Sunday, March 7th: Finals
At your assigned audition time, you will return to perform both your original scene and your newly prepared scene for a panel of three new judges as well as your perspective new agent.
They will again score you out of 50 with the agent's score counting double on this day.
After all 10 finalists have performed, the winner in each division, as well as the four runners up, will be announced.
The winners will each be rewarded with a meeting with the theatrical agent (or agents- we may have two!) that was their judge.
Following the competition
One week later, you will receive your typed-up anonymous judge's feedback forms.
PLEASE NOTE: This contest does not guarantee employment, nor does it promise representation. It does guarantee a meeting, but legally, we can not promise that this will lead to any further contact with the casting directors, or the judges.
The only competition where the prize could be the best thing to ever happen to your career - a meeting with an agent
