What to expect the day of your workshop:

FIRST:  We will always start the workshop with a Question and Answer period.  This will involve the casting director and everyone in the room.  Please bring any questions you have for their office, projects and the business!

SECOND:  Each actor will go in one at a time to perform his or her chosen scene with a reader for the casting director.  (We feel that this allows the CD to truly focus on each person and not have to split time between participants.)  The casting director will work on the scene giving re-adjustments and advice and fill out the evaluation sheet.

THIRD:  After the one on one time, each actor will receive the written evaluation from the casting director. (This allows the actor to gain the knowledge of what the casting director enjoyed and what the actor might need to improve on.)

Then you are free to go after that, don't forget to wait for your evaluation sheet!

THE ORDER OF YOUR ONE ON ONE PERFORMANCES:

You will be placed in the performance line in the order you arrive at the studio (we open the doors 20 minutes before the workshop).  You MUST check in immediately upon arriving.  The workers are there to help you if you are confused.  Please note that the workers begin checking people in 20 minutes before the workshop.  There is no need to arrive hours ahead of time, as you will not be able to sign in.

There is one exeption to this:

On the weekends, we have multiple workshops. The people in the morning classes are allowed to sign in when they arrive for their other classes.  The lists are then put away, and put out at 20 minutes before the workshop for people in that workshop to sign in.  The actors who sign in when they are there for the morning workshop MUST BE BACK at the studio 20 minutes before their afternoon workshop time in order to maintain their spots.  If you are not, you will have to resign in when you arrive.

Actors who are only in the afternoon workshops are not allowed to sign in before the normal 20 minutes before the workshop time (so don't show up at 9:30 AM to sign up when you are in a 2:00 workshop- your name will be removed from the list if you are not in a morning class).  This seems to be the only fair way to do this if people are taking multiple workshops in a day!

If you need to use an early pass, you just need to email us 24 hours before the workshop that you would like to use one (you get three per calendar year).  We will email you back a confirmation, and you just need to remind the worker when you arrive.  Thanks!

A few more things to remember:

  • Are there sides to be prepared? (our standard format is for you to bring prepared sides from our website to read.  If you would prefer to bring something of your own, you need to have it approved.  Instructions and rules about this are under SIDES in the main menu).   Make sure you have TWO copies with you (one for you and one HIGHLIGHTED for the reader)  We will always post a note in the casting director's description if the format is going to be different for a particular workshop!
  • Doors will always open 20 minutes till start time! **if you need to go early for any reason, be sure to let us know when you sign up (NOT when you arrive- you must email us in advance AND receive confirmation back via email from us- no phone requests, or requests at the door will be taken!!!).  Again, we allow 3 "go earlies" per calendar year, and you must be AT THE WORKSHOP 15 minutes before the workshop to maintain your early spot.  If you are later than that, we will have to put you where you would normally fall on the list (this seems the only fair way to do it!).

If you need to use one of these early passes, you  MUST request it  BY EMAIL to actorskey@gmail.com at least 24 hours ahead of time, and RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL BACK.  If you do not receive a confirmation, you are not guaranteed the early spot.

**While each guest clears this format, we are not responsible for any changes they may choose to make during the workshop!

**The multiple week classes will each be uniquely formatted based upon the teacher- check on the class descriptions (in the calendar section) to get full details!
